Job Description

K12 Tutoring, a startup in Stride’s portfolio, is building an online tutoring marketplace that connects students, families, and schools with certified teachers. The Account Executive acquires and services school/district clients, working with administrators to assess needs and partner on solutions that help schools better serve students.

Essential Functions
  • Acquire new clients through prospecting to identify and qualify potential customers.
  • Develop leads through cold calling and referral channels to generate appointments and establish relationships.
  • Work with customers to understand their objectives and requirements; prepare a plan for each customer to meet short‑ and long‑term needs.
  • Develop and implement strategies to maintain and/or expand sales within an assigned territory; close sales of prospective customers to meet sales goals.
  • Maintain new and existing account relationships through regular contact, advise customers of new products and services, and obtain product feedback.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for customer issues or activities related to product utilization; maintain ownership of issues with professionalism and control.
  • Work across departments to coordinate sales efforts with key stakeholders.
  • Maintain complete and accurate client data in the appropriate systems on a timely basis to ensure clean knowledge transfer and hand‑off of closed sales to Sales Operations and Customer Success.
  • Effectively communicate with key accounts and corporate staff, provide reports on budget and sales activity, forecast demand for products and services, and give feedback to marketing and product engineering teams for future products.
  • Familiarize oneself with and become adept at using tools necessary to accurately track opportunities and forecast demand.
  • Contribute to the formal review process of all business activities in the assigned territories on at least a quarterly basis.
  • Identify and participate in trade shows by representing the business, sharing product information, and preparing and conducting technical/product presentations and demonstrations.
  • Serve as a resource for and mentor to junior sales professionals.

Minimum

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree AND
  • Five (5) years related professional work experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Located on the West Coast (CA preferred).
  • Certificates and Licenses:
    None required.

  • Experience working in K‑12 school districts and/or school administration.
  • Passion for education.
  • Knowledge of the K‑12 education industry.
  • Experience with education technology and online learning solutions.
  • Team‑oriented with an ability to work effectively across the organization to solve complex issues.
  • Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate strong time‑management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a results‑oriented environment while demonstrating resilience.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to feedback, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and web proficiency.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
  • Ability to clear the required background check.
Desired Qualifications
  • Sales experience.
  • Evidence of consistently meeting sales goals and quotas.
  • Previous experience using a Customer Relationship Management application (such as Salesforce or Hub Spot).
  • Advanced Excel skills for reporting.
Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range: $91,000–$100,000, plus a results‑driven commission plan. When revenue targets are met, on‑target earnings are estimated around $160,000. Compensation may vary by geographic location, experience, training, education, and market conditions. Benefits include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off. The commission plan is uncapped, allowing high performers to exceed on‑target earnings.
