The Sales Account Executive generates advertising revenue by calling on established agencies, cold‑calling new prospects, and demonstrating to potential clients the merits of television and digital advertising on WFXR/WWCW/ and Nexstar Digital platforms. We serve Roanoke, Lynchburg, the New River Valley, and surrounding counties.
Responsibilities- Implements strategies to consistently grow revenue and exceed revenue goals.
- Establishes credible relationships with local business community.
- Prospect, qualify, close, and grow new business.
- Make sales calls on existing and prospective clients.
- Maintain assigned accounts and develop new accounts.
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations to clients.
- Continue to learn and implement new strategies and products.
- Explain to customers how specific types of advertising will help promote their products or services in the most effective way possible.
- Act as an advocate for our products and programs.
- Provide clients with information regarding rates for advertising placement in all media.
- Develop advertising schedules with clients and station personnel responsible for placing advertising into station media.
- Work with creative services in the production of client’s creative elements for both broadcast and digital advertising campaigns.
- Responsible for order entry, contracts, follow‑up, and collections.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, or Mass Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work‑related experience.
- Experience in media or digital sales preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Experience achieving long‑range objectives and implementing the strategies and actions to achieve them.
- Knowledge of digital marketing basics (Google/Facebook, etc.) preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint and basic office equipment required.
