The Sales Account Executive generates advertising revenue by calling on established agencies, cold‑calling new prospects, and demonstrating to potential clients the merits of television and digital advertising on WFXR/WWCW/ and Nexstar Digital platforms. We serve Roanoke, Lynchburg, the New River Valley, and surrounding counties.

Responsibilities
  • Implements strategies to consistently grow revenue and exceed revenue goals.
  • Establishes credible relationships with local business community.
  • Prospect, qualify, close, and grow new business.
  • Make sales calls on existing and prospective clients.
  • Maintain assigned accounts and develop new accounts.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations to clients.
  • Continue to learn and implement new strategies and products.
  • Explain to customers how specific types of advertising will help promote their products or services in the most effective way possible.
  • Act as an advocate for our products and programs.
  • Provide clients with information regarding rates for advertising placement in all media.
  • Develop advertising schedules with clients and station personnel responsible for placing advertising into station media.
  • Work with creative services in the production of client’s creative elements for both broadcast and digital advertising campaigns.
  • Responsible for order entry, contracts, follow‑up, and collections.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, or Mass Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work‑related experience.
  • Experience in media or digital sales preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Experience achieving long‑range objectives and implementing the strategies and actions to achieve them.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing basics (Google/Facebook, etc.) preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint and basic office equipment required.
