Open Rank Academic Investigator – Department of Ophthalmology, University of Virginia
The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Virginia (UVA) seeks applications for an Open Rank Academic Investigator. The successful candidate will support research efforts to reduce vision‑threatening eye disease, develop new concepts in understanding the mechanisms of ocular disease, independently carry out experiments, and contribute to the mission for vision science. The investigator will serve as a resource and mentor for the research group and will have an active role in the education and training of research fellows, laboratory staff, and medical students.
Salary, rank, and tenure are commensurate with education and experience. This position will remain open until filled; review of applications will begin at the end of August. Background checks will be performed on all new hires prior to employment. A completed pre‑employment health screen is required for this position prior to employment.
Qualifications- MD or equivalent by appointment start date.
