Position Overview
The University of Virginia Department of Neurological Surgery is seeking tenure‑eligible PhD neuroscientists with expertise in cerebrovascular diseases and brain injury, such as stroke, aneurysm and vascular malformations, intracerebral hemorrhage, and traumatic brain injury in animals and/or humans, to fill multiple Academic Investigator positions.
Responsibilities- Engage in research projects, apply for internal and external grants to support this research, and publish results.
- Support resident education and research, participate in resident and medical student teaching sessions, and present regionally and nationally.
- MD and/or PhD in neurosciences or related fields.
- Track record for conducting basic or translational research with successful or promising submissions to NIH and other sponsors.
- Proven history of publication in peer‑reviewed neurological journals.
Salary, rank, and tenure are commensurate with education and experience.
