Job Summary

Riverside Regional Jail located at 500 FOLAR Trail, North Prince George, Virginia is hiring Jail Officers. The starting salary is $55,893 per year with full benefits, including VRS retirement, 457 plan, health, dental, vision insurance, annual and sick leave, and 14 paid holidays. Candidates with five or more years of corrections or jail experience, including military experience, may earn a higher salary.

Promotional opportunities are available.

Duties include ensuring conformity with jail rules and regulations, governing the conduct and behavior of the inmate population and staff, assuming responsibility for the security and welfare of inmates, and preparing various reports, logs, and documents.

• At least 18 years old, U.S. citizen, and possess a valid Virginia driver’s license.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.
• Not convicted of a felony.
• Experience in a jail or corrections facility with a public, private, or military agency preferred but not required.
