Job DescriptionThe Onsite Security Coordinator supports daily security operations at active construction sites. This role serves as the primary point of contact for the 24/7 guard staff and the General Contractor, ensuring site access control, incident reporting, and adherence to security protocols. This is an administrative and field-based role designed for individuals who are highly organized, reliable, and have a customer‑first mentality.
ResponsibilitiesOnsite Security Coordinator
- Act as the main point of contact for security guards and site leadership
- Coordinate daily security operations and ensure proper site coverage
- Attend General Contractor meetings to understand forecasted construction activities
- Monitor access control procedures and enforce site security protocols
- Interface directly with the General Contractor and project teams
- Communicate security updates, incidents, and access needs
- Support the coordination of site activities related to security
- Maintain daily logs, reports, and incident documentation
- Responsible for physical badging operations onsite for General Contractor/subcontractor construction personnel.
- Track personnel access and visitor records
- Ensure compliance with company policies and site requirements
- Conduct site walkthroughs to ensure security procedures are followed
- Support early morning or variable shifts based on project needs
- Assist with basic coordination of security‑related equipment or processes
Education and Experience
- 3+ Years of Site Security experience. Construction projects preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid security guard license as required by state/local regulations
- Clean background check and drug screening
- U.S. Citizenship
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficiency with electronic access control systems
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
- Basic computer skills for maintaining electronic access lists
- Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screening and periodic random drug screening.
- Must be able to bend at the waist, knees, and waist.
- Must have the physical ability to perform a variety of training functions.
- Ability to walk on uneven surfaces, walk long distances on a training facility, and operate equipment.
- Must be physically capable of standing an 8‑hour post.
- Capability to walk/patrol construction site perimeters
- Visual acuity sufficient for and site monitoring
- Physical stamina for extended periods of standing and walking
- 8‑hour rotating shift schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Outdoor work environment at an active construction site
- Exposure to construction noise, dust, and varying weather conditions
- Must work independently with no on‑site supervision or backup
