Job DescriptionReynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia's capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. Reynolds is seeking a Campus Police Officer to help maintain a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This role involves enforcing state laws and campus regulations, responding to routine and emergency situations, and ensuring the protection of campus property. The officer serves as a visible presence on campus, promoting safety and providing exceptional customer service. Duties include patrolling campus grounds, operating police vehicles and equipment, responding to alarms, writing reports, and assisting with investigations.
The position may also involve overseeing part-time security staff and implementing security protocols. Requires a current certification or the ability to obtain certification as a campus police officer as mandated by the Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS).
