Job DutiesThe Intelligence Specialist (Supervisor) provides daily supervision, coaching, and operational oversight to a team responsible for gathering, reviewing, analyzing, and disseminating comprehensive security threat information. This position leads Command Center operations within the Operations and Logistics Unit (OLU), ensuring timely situational awareness, investigative support, and coordinated response during high demand or emergency events. The role maintains close communication with headquarters, correctional facilities, probation and parole districts, OLES, SIU, and external criminal justice partners.
- Oversee Command Center operations, ensuring real time monitoring, incident coordination, and dissemination of safety critical information.
- Supervises staff, providing performance feedback, coaching, evaluations, and adherence to investigative standards.
- Direct intelligence gathering, review, verification, pattern/trend identification, and production of actionable intelligence products.
- Maintain quality control over investigative entries in RMS, VACORIS, and related systems.
- Support investigative activities involving gangs, criminal enterprises, contraband networks, and security threat groups.
- Serve as an interchangeable supervisory resource, fully capable of assuming responsibilities of the second Supervisory Intelligence (Supervisor).
- Maintain and promote cooperative partnerships with DOC units, law enforcement agencies, and external intelligence personnel.
- Develop and deliver structured training, classroom instruction, and operational guidance.
- Experience in criminal intelligence, investigations, threat analysis, or related fields.
- Supervisory experience directing operational staff.
- Ability to interpret complex data, identify patterns, and produce professional intelligence products.
- Proficiency with investigative systems such as RMS, VACORIS, or similar platforms.
- Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
- Experience in corrections, law enforcement, or emergency operations.
- Experience in a command center or operations center environment.
- Advanced skill in data analysis tools, intelligence software, visual analytics, or investigative platforms.
