come grow with us! The oklahoma forensic center (ofc) located in vinita, ok is a 24hour/ 365 day secure inpatient forensic facility that provides jail competency services for thestate of oklahoma. Currently, ofc has 268 beds for consumers who have been foundincompetent for adjudication or adjudicated as not guilty by reason of insanity. Ofc is expanding with construction scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2025 adding an additional
84 beds . When completed, ofc will have a total of 352 beds to house consumers.
here at the oklahoma forensic center the security department is hiring for a forensic officer that would be assigned responsibilities at an inpatient behavioral health facility that may include, but are not limited to, the inspection of buildings and grounds for elimination of fire hazards, enforcement of laws, rules and regulations and providing security against acts of terrorism. This may include patrolling assigned premises to identify and correct fire hazards, providing assistance to employees, directing traffic, monitoring security cameras, performing walks of the units, assisting staff with the movement of consumers within the facility to assure safety, transporting consumers to appointments, off grounds if needed and responds and assists with medical emergencies or other calls from the units and supervising employees.

minimum qualifications and experienceeducation and experience requirements at this level consist of a basic security and/or firefighter's course and four years of experience in security or fire prevention and protection work. Plus one additional year of qualifying experience; or eighteen months of experience in security work and a current licensure as an armed security guard through the council of law enforcement education and training (cleet).

applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normallyassociated with this position and as such have a valid driver's license.
upon a conditional offer of employment, department of mental health and substance abuse services applicants must submit to a physical examination and shall meet the physical examination requirements of occasionally lifting/carrying 60 pounds and able to push and pull a maximum force of 30 pounds.
