Komatsu is currently recruiting for a Field Service Technician to work at our Virginia, MN location. This position is represented by a union.

Field Service Technicians work with both Mechanical and Welding applications in a field environment.

• Travel to various sites to provide technical support and troubleshooting.
• Provide detailed service reports and deliver excellent customer service.
• Use judgment to plan, perform, and make decisions as the sequence of set‑ups, operations, and processes within the limitations of recognized or standard methods and procedures.
• Prevent damage due to mistakes or carelessness to equipment or materials.

• Understand welding and cutting applications including air arcing and dual shield wire.
• Continuous mental and visual attention; usually repetitive work or diversified operations requiring constant alertness or activity.
• Clean tools, clean equipment, paint and grease equipment as needed.
• Prevent loss resulting from negligent inspection or testing; from spoilage or wastage of raw or in‑process materials.
• Work with a senior welder or mechanic to learn to interpret blueprints, operate electrical and pneumatic power tools and follow a scope of work.
• 1 to 3 years of mechanical or weld experience in a similar job is a plus.
• Ability to interpret and understand complicated drawings, specifications, charts, and tables.
• Flexibility to work various schedules, including shift work.
• Possession of or eligibility to obtain a CDL is required.

At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $31.90 - $39.60. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
