Martin Horn Inc., a leading construction company, is seeking a Carpenter's Assistant to join our team. You will play a crucial role in supporting our skilled carpenters on various construction projects. This position offers on-the-job training and the opportunity to develop valuable skills in the construction industry. Responsibilities- Assist carpenters by holding and securing lumber during the building process, ensuring it is level or plumb during installation.
- Help with building forms for pouring concrete.
- Prepare work areas by transporting necessary tools and equipment from storage facilities.
- Load and unload building materials for construction projects.
- Build and disassemble scaffolding, bracing, and other temporary structures used on construction sites.
- Remove debris and potential hazards to keep construction sites clean and safe.
- Dig trenches and holes required for construction projects.
- Maintain and service machines as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Ability to follow instructions from supervisors, foremen, and carpenters.
- Basic knowledge of carpentry and construction techniques and procedures.
- Ability to perform basic math.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Physically able to perform assigned tasks, including lifting up to 40 pounds and standing for prolonged periods.
