Job Overview

Komatsu is currently recruiting for a Field Service Technician to work at our Virginia, MN location. This position is represented by a union.

• Field Service Technicians work with both Mechanical and Welding applications in field environment.

• Travel to various sites to provide technical support and troubleshooting.
• Provide detailed service reports and deliver excellent customer service.
• Use judgment to plan, perform and make decisions as the sequence of set‑ups, operations and processes within the limitations of recognized or standard methods and procedures.
• Prevent damage due to mistakes or carelessness to equipment or materials.

• Understands Welding and Cutting Applications including air arcing, and dual shield wire.
• Continuous mental and visual attention; usually repetitive work or diversified operations requiring constant alertness or activity.
• Clean tools, clean equipment, paint and grease equipment as needed.
• Prevent loss which may result from negligent inspection or testing; from spoilage or wastage of raw or in process materials.
• Will work with a higher Welder or Mechanic to learn to interpret blueprints, operate electrical power tools and pneumatic power tools as well as learning how to follow a scope of work.
• Over 1 year up to and including 3 years mechanical experience and/or weld experience in a similar job is a plus.
• Ability to interpret and understand complicated drawings, specifications, charts and tables.
• Flexibility to work various schedules including shift work.
• Possession of or eligibility to obtain a CDL is required for this position.

Base pay is $33.40 - $44.60. Actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
