Field Service Technician HVAC - Data Center

About the Role

Munters, a leader in climate solutions for mission‑critical processes, is seeking a HVAC Data Center Technician. The role involves traveling up to 90% of the time across the USA to begin, commission, troubleshoot, and repair Munters Data Center equipment, while protecting equipment, providing customer training, and submitting detailed field service reports.

• Perform factory start‑up, commissioning, warranty, and billable service on Munters Data Center equipment and systems.
• Maintain and protect Munters equipment and property.
• Respond in a timely manner to all requests for service from customers or management.
• Provide customer training on Munters equipment.
• Provide technical feedback on equipment through detailed field service reports.
• Coordinate with other trades and services during onsite start‑up and commissioning projects.

• 5+ years of experience with extensive knowledge in the mechanical HVAC field.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical troubleshooting, including diagnosis and data recording.
• Training in Arc Flash, Lock‑out Tag‑out and other safety requirements; ability to use all related PPE.
• Extensive refrigeration knowledge: pressure testing, evacuation, charging, troubleshooting, and diagnosing refrigeration problems.
• Proficiency in brazing and soldering; holds a universal refrigeration card.
• Experience with controls, including troubleshooting, programming, and downloading to control systems.
• Knowledge of PLCs, with ability to access, adjust, and communicate changes via computer.
• (Optional) State‑licensed Master HVAC mechanic.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Ability to communicate with site personnel, Sales PM, Service Manager, and Technical Support personnel.
• High school diploma or equivalent; trade school desired.

• Heavy work: exert up to 75 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently, constantly, or simultaneously.
• Climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Close visual acuity for activities such as preparing and analyzing data, viewing computer terminals, and extensive reading.

• Distance: travel and be away from home for several days at a time, primarily by plane and car.
• Availability: on‑call duties, occasional weekends and/or holidays, and outdoor work in all types of weather.
• Height: ability to work 6 feet or more above the ground as required.
