Job Summary

Utility Pipeline Ltd. (Appalachian Natural Gas Distribution Company) is searching for a Gas Utility Technician who would primarily operate throughout Hillsville, Galax, and Floyd in Carroll County, Virginia. Ideally, this person would be located in Hillsville or surrounding areas. The office/shop is located in Hillsville and this individual would report daily to that location. Experience in the Natural Gas Distribution field is a plus.

This is a full time position with benefits.

General Responsibilities

• Respond to various work orders
• Leak surveys, inspections, and compliance-related tasks
• Annual maintenance of pipelines and facilities
• Install and remove meters
• Meter reading and install ERTs
• Install pipelines, taps, and services
• Oversee and inspect sub-contractors on assigned projects
• Maintain company vehicle and equipment
• Complete necessary paperwork for daily tasks
• On-call rotation/emergency call outs

Job Qualifications

• Education:
  
  High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience:
  
  1+ years of related experience preferred but not required
• Valid and clean driver’s license
• Willing and able to pass a drug and alcohol test (pre-employment and random)
• Willing to complete required online training and pipeline safety training programs
