Job Overview

Sr Mobile Diesel Technician – DOT Management Level Individual Contributor. Flexible work option – remote possible within the specified city, state, or region. Travel required 100%. Variable shift:
Monday – Friday 11am to 7pm or 3pm to 11pm.

Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
  • Conduct minor adjustments and repairs of truck equipment, including electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters/alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering, gas/diesel engines, transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
  • Diagnose, adjust, and repair various truck equipment using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.
  • Road test vehicles to confirm repairs and ensure proper operation.
  • Inspect, test, and analyze defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Manage parts inventory on the company‑issued service truck, performing periodic reconciliation.
  • Maintain and operate the company‑issued service vehicle, conducting safety checks and pre‑/post‑trip inspections.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and customers to assess needs, resolve problems, and meet expectations.
  • Prioritize concurrent tasks and manage daily schedule independently.
  • Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks as required.
  • Document work on Repair Orders (RO) using the company‑issued iOS device and TRAIT application, uploading pictures, parts used, and findings.
  • Complete DOT forms and all other documentation promptly.
  • Operate within or close to standard repair times, maintaining high productivity.
  • Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as needed.
  • Communicate with management and support team via email or phone to obtain approvals on repair estimates, purchase order numbers, and discuss RO findings.
  • Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies, and federal regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED and at least 3years of experience in a related field, or a higher degree/certification and 5years of experience.
  • At least 3years of experience with refrigerated equipment.
  • Provide and maintain required hand tools for job duties.
  • Complete all company‑required training.
  • Pass DOT‑regulated background screening, DOT physical, or provide a current DOT medical card with more than 4months remaining.
  • Be at least 21years old and possess a valid driver’s license for the state of residence.
  • Maintain a Driver Qualification File.
  • Possess OU‑training and certifications preferred.
  • Required certifications (must be obtained within 18months of hire):
    • ASE T8 (PMI)
    • ASE 608/609
  • Preferred certifications: ASE T2, ASE T3, ASE T4, ASE T5, ASE T6, ASE T7, ASE A8, ASE L1, ASE L2.
