WhatYou’ll Do
- Champion safety – prioritize safety throughout the operation in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards, ensure all drill and blasting standards are followed.
- Move and operate drill – move drill to the designated location within the quarry, safely maneuver the drill into position, and operate the unit to drill blast holes according to the drill pattern.
- Inspect and maintain drill – maintain bits, hammers, and steel tubes, replace steels as needed, inspect and maintain drill mechanisms, lubricant systems, and fluid levels, make minor repairs by replacing gaskets, filters, and hoses.
- Coordinate with Operations Management to maintain drilling supplies inventory.
- Complete reports – document drilling and blasting activities as required.
- Train – train and direct the work of drilling co‑workers, provide specific drill task training as needed.
- Assist with design – assist in drill and blast pattern design layout.
- Additional responsibilities – perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience in the mining or aggregates industry is preferred, with a clean performance, maintenance, and safety history required.
- Flexibility – must be able to work overtime and extended hours, out‑of‑door in all weather conditions, and tolerate loud noises.
The hourly range for this role is between $22.79 and $29.13. This range does not include discretionary bonuses or equity packages.
