ITS Field Service Technician – Virginia (Full-Time)
$27–33/hr
We are seeking a motivated ITS Field Service Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and repair of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) throughout Virginia. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on technician who enjoys troubleshooting complex electronic systems, working independently, and delivering exceptional customer service in the field.
Responsibilities- Install, configure, and commission Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) equipment at customer sites.
- Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and emergency repairs on roadside electronic systems.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and communication issues to restore system functionality.
- Integrate roadside devices, perform testing and calibration, and configure system parameters.
- Review installation drawings and specifications to verify compliance and identify required corrections.
- Document service activities accurately using electronic work order and reporting systems.
- Provide technical support and training to customers on deployed systems.
- Collaborate with engineering, technical support, manufacturing, and project teams to resolve technical issues.
- Supervise subcontractors and ensure installations meet quality and safety standards.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in safe operating condition.
- Follow all company safety procedures and industry best practices while working in roadside and outdoor environments.
- Degree, diploma, certificate in Electronics Technology, Electrical Technology, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Experience troubleshooting electronic, electrical, or electromechanical systems.
- Mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand and power tools.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Linux/Unix environments, and Microsoft Office 365.
- Basic understanding of networking, hardware integration, and system diagnostics.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Valid passport or ability to obtain one for occasional travel.
- Ability to lift up to 65 lbs. and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to travel extensively throughout Virginia, with occasional travel to other locations as needed.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts and overtime when required.
