Responsibilities- Enhance public safety by meeting re-entry objectives and providing effective security, programming, custody, and control of adult inmates in a major correctional facility.
- Perform repair, preventative maintenance, and service of all plumbing systems according to building codes and standards.
- Maintain inventory through planning and purchasing and respond to work requests in a timely manner in a Total Maintenance System (TMS).
- Supervise inmate workers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of the facility.
- Respond to emergency callbacks for service on a rotating basis.
- Assist in other areas of Building and Grounds department, including preventative maintenance, construction projects, equipment repair, electrical, welding, carpentry, electronics, or outside maintenance.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Considerable knowledge of corrective maintenance, installation, repair, and preventive maintenance related to plumbing/steam-fitting.
- Demonstrated skill in the use of tools and supplies related to the trade.
- Demonstrated ability to keep narrative and statistical records relating to the maintenance and repair of equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise the work of others.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Programs and Gmail or preventive maintenance programs.
- Completion from vocational/technical school, completion of apprenticeship and/or sufficient on-the-job training (OJT) in trade activities.
- Multiple trades experience.
