Position: C-12/King Air Army Transport Aircraft Mechanic (FAA A&P) FT. Eustis, VA.

The C-12/King Air Army Transport Aircraft Mechanic (FAA A&P).

Performs organizational and intermediate level maintenance on C-12/King Air (200/350/1900) aircraft.

  • A valid (FAA) A&P Certificate is required.
  • US citizenship is required to obtain the US Government Secret Clearance for this opportunity.
  • Union CBA provides three levels of A&P mechanic experience based on years of experience on the specific aircraft assigned: C-12/King Air (200/350/1900).
  • AM-1 – FAA A&P certificate and two years of A&P mechanic experience required, with two years of C-12 specific hands‑on mechanic experience desired.
  • AM-2 – Five years of FAA A&P experience required, with five years of specific C-12/King Air hands‑on mechanic experience required.
  • AM-3 – Ten years of FAA A&P mechanic experience required, and thirteen years of specific C-12 experience required for an AM-3 under the Union CBA.
  • Responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, repairing and modifying aircraft systems to ensure continued airworthiness.
  • Tasks performed on avionics & electrical systems, engines, flight controls and airframe components.
  • Repairs are performed using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills.
  • Must comply with aircraft record procedures outlined in DA PAM 738‑751.
  • Ensure aircraft discrepancies are properly recorded in accordance with approved maintenance procedures and within the terms of the contract.
  • Perform aircraft recovery missions as necessary.
  • Perform engine run or taxi operations; must be able to meet the requirement to obtain certification within 12 months of employment.
  • Reads and interprets manufacturers’ maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • A valid FAA A&P Certificate is required.
  • Union CBA offers three levels of A&P mechanic employment (AM‑1, AM‑2 and/or AM‑3), based on years of specific hands‑on experience on the C-12/King Air (200/350/1900) aircraft assigned.
  • AM-1 – A&P certificate and two years as an A&P mechanic required, with two years of C-12 hands‑on mechanic experience desired.
  • AM-2 – A&P certificate and five years of C-12/King Air specific hands‑on A&P mechanic experience required.
  • AM-3 – A&P certificate and ten years of FAA A&P mechanic experience required, and thirteen years of specific C-12 hands‑on experience desired, for the AM‑3 (under the Union CBA).
  • Ability to move freely about the interior and in the unpressurized area aft of the aft pressure bulkhead and meet aircraft specific specs for weight limit.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Mechanic tools and toolbox required; mechanics must provide their own tools and toolbox, tools must be etched with employee PID, and toolbox shadowed for each tool.
  • Must be willing and able to work any shift assigned and/or rotate for a multiple shift operation, under the Union CBA.
  • Standard work week – Monday to Friday, 40 hours a week.
  • Must be able to clear pre‑employment mechanic physical AR‑95.
Security Clearance Requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Security Clearance and facility credentials and authorization.
  • US citizenship is required to hold a US Government Secret Clearance and facility credentials to work at this facility.
AR-95 Medical – FAA A&P Mechanic Pre‑employment Physical
  • All personnel performing engine runs, ground taxi, ordnance loading, or operating self‑propelled support equipment within ten feet of the aircraft silhouette must pass a physical examination from a qualified medical professional prior to conducting these operations, and thereafter on a specified periodic basis, not to exceed five years.
Physical and Additional Qualifications
  • Pull, push, lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Stand, squat, sit, walk, work with arms overhead for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to move freely about the interior and in the unpressurized area aft of the aft pressure bulkhead and meet aircraft specific specs for weight limit.
