- Supervise contracted HVAC work.
- Maintain HVAC equipment and systems, correct problems, and perform new HVAC installations in compliance with applicable codes.
- Provide economical and safe HVAC service to campus.
- Complete work orders with priorities approved by immediate supervisor.
- Independently handle emergency work on weekends and holidays.
- Lead other HVAC technicians and trades staff with priorities approved by immediate supervisor; handle emergency work on weekends and holidays.
- Perform maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems.
- Support emergency operations and take lead with campuses’ HVAC contractors.
- Knowledge of maintenance, repair, and replacement of HVAC equipment.
- Ability to repair and maintain a variety of equipment including air conditioning, boilers, air-handlers, fan coil units, pumps, valves, controllers (DDC & Pneumatic), motors, starters, refrigeration, and automated control systems.
- Ability to follow verbal instruction and work independently.
- Ability to work with little or no supervision and make sound decisions independently.
- Proficient in the use of hand and electric tools and diagnostic equipment related to the trade.
- Ability to move/lift 50 lbs regularly.
- Ability to function in close quarters or cramped environments.
- Unrestricted valid driver’s license in good standing with a good driving record.
- Commercial HVAC training.
- Experience in energy management and mechanical systems.
- Experience in operation and maintenance of HVAC equipment and preventive maintenance operations.
- Experience in multiple automatic controls/building management computerized controls or equivalent experience or training.
- Experience working from mechanical drawings and building blueprints.
- Experience in operation and maintenance of chillers, heat pumps, air handlers, and geothermal systems.
