Abbington West End - Henrico, VA (Richmond)

You will be working and training onsite alongside a supervisor with a full maintenance team, and will need to have future flexibility to transfer to another community as needed.

In this role, you will manage and coordinate the activities of a service team to ensure that all upkeep, inventory and repair of grounds and buildings of the property are completed efficiently. You will also diagnose problems and make repairs in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, drywall, exterior structural, and appliances. Additionally, you will schedule and directly supervise all in‑house and/or vendor work, and share on‑call responsibilities with other team members.

This is a hands‑on role. Effective performance of our service team maximizes rents and maintains high occupancy levels by following professional maintenance practices, using quality control and following policies/procedures. The team is customer‑service driven, creating a lasting influence on visitors, prospects, and residents.

• Pay – starting at $26 per hour, depending on experience
• On Call Bonus – $150 per week (calls or no calls) plus an additional $150 per holiday on‑call bonus
• Quarterly Bonus – up to $1,110 potential, based on performance of property and team

• Minimum 4 years trade‑related experience with at least 1 year of hands‑on apartment maintenance lead, assistant, or supervisory experience.
• Strong working knowledge of all aspects of building maintenance including electrical, plumbing, appliance repairs, interior/exterior maintenance, and carpentry.
• EPA/CFC Refrigerant certification required (Type I and II or Universal).
• Hands‑on HVAC repair experience required.
• Computer skills: use business software to assign and manage work orders, schedule turns, order supplies, and communicate via email.
• Willing to share on‑call with other team members.
• Valid driver’s license, transportation, and tools required.
• DMV and background/criminal check will be conducted.
