US Energy Management is seeking dependable, hardworking, and safety-focused Entry-Level Laborers to support field crews performing energy-efficiency and electrical construction projects at commercial, industrial, institutional, and government facilities.

The Entry-Level Laborer reports directly to the Field Supervisor and works alongside Energy Efficiency / Electrical Installers and other field personnel. This is an entry-level position designed for individuals interested in developing a career in the electrical, lighting, construction, or energy-efficiency industry.

Previous electrical or construction experience is helpful but not required. US Energy Management will provide on-the-job training for employees who demonstrate reliability, a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and commitment to safety. Typical projects may include LED lighting retrofits, lighting controls, electrical upgrades, fixture replacements, sensors, material handling, equipment staging, and other energy conservation measures.

Field & Installation Support
  • Assist Field Supervisors and Installers with daily project activities.
  • Support the removal and replacement of lighting fixtures, lamps, retrofit kits, lenses, diffusers, and related equipment under appropriate supervision.
  • Prepare fixtures, materials, tools, and equipment for installation.
  • Assist installers with positioning, staging, assembling, and handling lighting and controls equipment.
  • Perform basic non-electrical installation tasks as trained and assigned.
  • Remove existing equipment and materials as directed.
  • Assist with installation activities only within the employee's level of training, qualification, and authorization.
  • Follow project drawings, room-by-room work scopes, fixture schedules, and Field Supervisor instructions.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas throughout each shift.
  • Support installers so they can maintain efficient production.
Daily Crew Support
  • Report directly to the Field Supervisor for daily work assignments.
  • Attend daily startup meetings, safety meetings, and toolbox talks.
  • Follow work assignments and production expectations communicated by the Field Supervisor.
  • Arrive at the jobsite on time and prepared for the scheduled shift.
  • Work cooperatively with Installers and other crew members.
  • Move efficiently between assigned work areas as directed.
  • Notify the Field Supervisor when assigned work has been completed or when additional direction is needed.
  • Communicate material shortages, damaged equipment, unsafe conditions, or unexpected field conditions promptly.
  • Follow established break, lunch, and work schedules.
  • Assist with unloading, receiving, organizing, and staging project materials.
  • Move fixtures, lamps, controls, tools, ladders, and other materials to designated work areas.
  • Organize materials according to project locations, fixture types, or Field Supervisor instructions.
  • Maintain clean and orderly material staging areas.
  • Assist with inventory counts when requested.
  • Identify damaged or incorrect materials and report them to the Field Supervisor.
  • Help ensure installers have the materials needed to maintain production.
  • Protect fixtures and equipment from damage during handling and storage.
  • Minimize waste and unnecessary material loss.
  • Assist with commercial and industrial LED lighting retrofit projects.
  • Remove lamps, lenses, reflectors, fixture components, and other materials as directed.
  • Clean and prepare existing fixtures before retrofit installation.
  • Unpack and stage LED fixtures, retrofit kits, drivers, sensors, controls, and related equipment.
  • Assist installers with fixture assembly and preparation.
  • Help maintain organized work areas while lighting upgrades are underway.
  • Assist with checking completed work areas for debris, packaging, tools, or materials.
  • Develop familiarity with common lighting equipment and installation practices through hands-on training.
  • Assist with staging and preparation of occupancy sensors, daylight sensors, switches, wireless controls, and related equipment.
  • Support installers working with Lutron lighting control systems, including Vive, Athena, Quantum, or similar systems, when applicable.
  • Assist with identifying, labeling, organizing, and documenting control devices as directed.
  • Learn basic lighting-control components and terminology through field experience.
  • Perform only control-system tasks for which the employee has been trained and authorized.
