General Laborer – Full‑Time, Year‑Round
Shirley Contracting Company, LLC invites experienced general laborers to join a dynamic team dedicated to high‑quality construction projects across the Mid‑Atlantic region. This role is full‑time, year‑round, and may involve work from 6:00AM to 7:00AM, with possible overtime, nights, and weekend shifts.
Responsibilities- Perform flagging and traffic closures as needed.
- Clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces, and remove rubble, debris, and waste materials.
- Install erosion and sediment controls (e.g., silt fence, super silt fence, gutter buddies).
- Carry out manual labor tasks to support projects.
- Maintain safety toe boots, long pants, four‑inch shirt sleeves, and required PPE: hard hat, safety glasses, class 3 vests, and gloves.
- Adhere to company health and safety policies and requirements.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers and co‑workers.
- Experience working in outdoor environments in all seasons.
- Comfortable working with heavy equipment and communicating with operators, workers, and pedestrians.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces with safety equipment and training.
- Ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting (>15lbs) and repetitive movements such as pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, reaching, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and squatting.
- Working knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Must pass a pre‑employment physical and drug screening.
