Join Us?

Our people are passionate about innovation that improves lives and drives impactful change. Guided by our core values—agility, expertise, and trust—we foster a collaborative and forward‑thinking work environment for employees to build long-term careers.

The Crane Operator 2 independently sets up and operates fixed‑and swing‑cab telescopic cranes for routine lifting work. The role verifies crane condition, ground support, configuration, and load‑chart capacity; coordinates with the lift team; and maintains control from test lift through placement and shutdown. The operator stops and secures the crane when actual conditions exceed the plan, manufacturer limits, or assigned authority.

Responsibilities
  • Review routine lift plans for load weight, radius, boom length, setup, travel path, landing area, communication method, and assigned team roles.
  • Walk the work area to verify access, ground condition, obstructions, tail swing, overhead clearance, power‑line exposure, signal coverage, and landing readiness.
  • Complete daily or pre‑shift inspections, function checks, and documentation; remove the crane from service or coordinate repair when safety defects are found.
  • Set up TSS and TLL cranes using manufacturer procedures, including positioning, leveling, outrigger configuration, mats or cribbing, counterweight, boom or jib, and reeving.
  • Select and apply the correct load chart; determine gross load, radius, boom length, parts of line, configuration, and deductions for the pick, travel path, and landing position.
  • Establish routine swing‑radius and work‑area controls and confirm the designated signal authority, radio channel, stop signal, and ground‑crew positions before movement.
  • Operate routine lifts smoothly using coordinated functions; anticipate load lag, boom deflection, swing, stopping distance, wind, and clearance.
  • Execute the lift from test pick through travel, placement, and secure shutdown while maintaining chart compliance through the full operating path.
  • Perform permitted blind, travel, or pick‑and‑carry work only under manufacturer procedures, approved routes, qualified signaling, and documented employer evaluation.
  • Stop and secure the crane when actual load, radius, configuration, ground support, weather, communication, or equipment condition differs from the approved plan.
  • Explain crane response, setup limits, and load‑control needs to rigging personnel and supervision; coordinate safe setup, breakdown, and accessory handling with the ground crew.
  • Maintain accurate logs and inspection records, report recurring defects, and support coaching of less experienced operators and crew members.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED with 4 years of experience, or combination of equivalent experience and training.
  • Current CCO Telescopic Boom Crane - Fixed Cab (TSS) and Swing Cab (TLL) certifications for assigned equipment.
  • Documented employer operator evaluation for the assigned crane type, size, configuration, and work.
  • CDL Class A and medical card when assigned carrier or transport duties.
  • State, local, project, or customer crane qualification when required.
  • Demonstrated ability to set up and operate routine telescopic‑crane lifts independently.
  • Up to 75% Travel.
