Irrigation Technician

We're seeking an experienced Irrigation Technician to service and maintain an established book of residential and light commercial irrigation systems. This is a service and maintenance-focused role, not a new-install position; you'll be diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining existing systems across a set territory, with heavy seasonal volume during spring start-ups and fall winterizations.

• Install and replace broken/damaged sprinkler heads (rotor, spray, drip)
• Repair and replace PVC pipe (cutting, gluing, fitting)
• Work with funny pipe (flexible riser pipe) for head connections
• Diagnose and repair/replace irrigation controllers (basic programming and troubleshooting)
• Valve repair and replacement (solenoids, diaphragms, manifolds)

• Diagnose low pressure, zone failures, wiring faults, and valve issues
• Locate and repair underground wire breaks
• Identify and correct head coverage/spray pattern issues
• Read and interpret controller fault codes and wiring diagrams

• Fall winterization: blow-outs using compressed air, controller shutdown/programming for winter, backflow preventer winterization
• Manage seasonal scheduling volume across an assigned route

• Maintain and service an existing book of recurring customers/accounts
• Build relationships with repeat clients to support retention
• Communicate findings, recommended repairs, and pricing to customers on-site
• Accurately document work performed, parts used, and system notes per property

• 2+ years of hands-on irrigation service experience (residential and/or light commercial)
• Strong working knowledge of PVC solvent welding, poly/funny pipe connections, and common controller brands (Rain Bird, Hunter, Toro, etc.)
• Experience with spring start-up and fall winterization (compressor blow-out procedure)
• Backflow preventer testing certification a plus (or willingness to obtain)
• Irrigation Association Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT) a plus, not required
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record (will be driving a company vehicle)
• Physically able to dig, kneel, and work outdoors in varied weather conditions
• Basic understanding of hydraulics (GPM, PSI, zone sizing) preferred
