Software Engineer, Java Developer, C++ Developer

Overview

SCCI is seeking a skilled and experienced Software Engineer to join our dynamic team! The successful Candidate will have a focus in Java. In this position you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining a Java code base in support of U.S. Navy Weapon Systems. This role requires a strong understanding of front and back-end programming, user interface design, class design, code structuring, unit testing and version control systems.

Responsibilities:

Provide Software Engineering technical support

Support software engineering code – design reviews

Perform requirements assessments and requirements decomposition

Code to model system behavior through functional flows and functional descriptions

Support the development of software engineering presentations and reports

Demonstrate understanding of technical aspects required to develop large complex software-intensive systems

Develop software using pair programming and swarming techniques under Agile Process Write unit tests for Java and/or C++ user interfaces

Essential

Skills and Experience:

Must be a U.S. Citizen and have an active Secret Security Clearance

A Bachelor's (BS) degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline;
Or four (4) years of experience in lieu of degree

Five (5) years of full-time professional experience in software engineering applied to program development, modeling, and/or simulation

Proficient in software development using at least two (2) of the following:

Windows Various Linus distributions (e.g. Red Hat)
C/C++Java Preferred

Skills and Experience:

Two (2) years of experience with Navy or Joint Systems

JavaFXJUnit Mockito Multithreading  programming

Network communication in Java Git Jira C++Python scripting
