ResponsibilitiesAt GCI, we solve the hard problems. As a Software Engineer, a typical day will include the following duties:
- Work closely with the Customer’s product owner and program manager to deliver user stories necessary to realize product vision.
- Coordinate with multiple entities, including mission partners, to ensure tools meet defined requirements.
- Support data engineering efforts to analyze large data sets to derive data relationships.
- Ensure all application security vulnerabilities are addressed as appropriate by severity to maintain security accreditation.
- Maintain all source code in Customer-wide, remote Git repository and capture relevant project documentation per Customer documentation resources and practices.
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining secure Java 8+ web applications using the Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and Spring Security.
- Demonstrated experience supporting projects using Python.
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining modern client-side interfaces using industry-standard UI frameworks, JavaScript, Typescript, and React.
- Demonstrated experience designing, developing, querying, and maintaining Elastic Search and related technologies.
- Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and maintaining SQL-based databases, including Postgre
SQL and MySQL. - Demonstrated experience developing PL/SQL database scripts, including procedures, functions, exception handlers, and triggers.
- Demonstrated experience writing and tuning complex queries against structured and unstructured data sets.
- Demonstrated experience developing, documenting, and maintaining secure and scalable REST APIs.
- Demonstrated experience integrating services using messaging technologies, including service buses, publish and subscribe, and MQ.
- Demonstrated experience managing and developing software applications in an AWS environment.
- Demonstrated experience working with geo-locational data at both the backend and the application tier.
- Demonstrated experience developing software in a Dev Ops environment.
- Demonstrated experience maintaining Jenkins Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines with automated testing and deployment.
- Demonstrated experience using Git as a source code repository.
- Demonstrated experience working with big data processing and No
SQL databases such as Mongo
DB, Elastic Search, Map Reduce, and HBase. - Demonstrated experience with Apache NiFi.
- Demonstrated experience with the Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes.
- Demonstrated experience managing and mitigating IT security vulnerabilities using Plans of Actions and Milestones (POAMs), and applying FISMA security controls.
A candidate must be a US Citizen and requires an active/current TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
