Vantor is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer skilled in Java, Rust, and modern front-end development with React and Type Script. In this role, you’ll design and refine high-performance data analytics pipelines and custom applications that enhance air and maritime domain awareness for national security missions. You’ll collaborate with software engineers and data scientists to prototype, test, and deliver innovative analytical tools using open-source technologies.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services in Java and Rust.
- Build secure, modern front-end applications with React and Type Script.
- Lead architectural decisions, code reviews, and mentorship initiatives.
- Optimize and expand petabyte-scale relational data storage solutions.
- Write secure, well-tested, and high-performance code for production systems.
- Ensure alignment with federal compliance and software development standards.
- Must be a U.S. citizen with an active Top Secret clearance and/or CBP suitability with ability to work onsite 3 days/week in either Herndon, VA or Westminster, CO.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 8+ years of professional programming, design, or development experience, including 5+ years with Java and some meaningful experience (professional or personal) with Rust.
- Experience with modern JavaScript front-end frameworks, relational databases, and cloud infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience developing production applications using containerization and cluster orchestration tools.
- Comfortable working remotely and collaborating effectively via video and digital communication platforms.
- Strong foundation in software design principles, distributed systems, and API architecture.
- Experience with high-volume, low-latency streaming data analytics and big-data management.
- Familiarity with technologies such as Apache Flink, Iceberg, Spark, Postgre
SQL, React, and Type Script. - Skilled in developing and deploying applications within secure or government environments.
- Proficient in testing, debugging, and maintaining both front-end and back-end systems.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration abilities.
- The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $ - $ annually.
- The base pay for this position within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $ - $ annually.
