Position: CDL Water Truck Driver with Tanker Endorsement
Pay: $24.00/hr- $34.00/hr (Based on experience and certifications)
We are currently seeking an experienced CDL Driver to join our Heavy Civil Team for our Toano, VA project. Reporting to direct field supervision, the Water Truck Driver is responsible for truck inspections, loading and unloading a equipment and materials, operating water trucks, and performing skilled laborer work as needed when not driving the water truck on the construction site. Other tasks may include but not limited to laborer duties and operating equipment including but not limited to excavators and dozers, carrying materials and heavy objects, stacking materials, cleaning of job site.
This position works along with the entire Project Team to support the completion of assigned construction tasks and ensures all plans move forward to meet projected deadlines.
This is a safety sensitive position requiring work on construction sites with various safety hazards inherent in heavy construction.
This position is subject to drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.

Qualifications- 2 years experience driving a tractor trailer; experience in Heavy Highway construction preferred
- CDL B with Tanker Endorsement required
- Experience operating construction equipment safely
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented
- Operating /driving CDL type truck
- Thorough knowledge of DOT rules, particularly load securement and hours of service.
- Ability to climb up and down off trailers / equipment safely.
- Computer literacy required- electronic logs are used, and computer programs are used for time entry. Will train on these specific systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others by phone, in person or through email.
- Willingness to perform cross functional tasks as part of the team
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds from ground level to waist level and assist with loading and/or unloading
- Must be able to be bounced around when driving on very rough terrain. Must be willing to help in other construction related tasks when not driving.
- Must be able to climb into cab of truck and climb down from the truck cab
- Must be able to bend, squat, and kneel to perform essential tasks including maintenance and inspection of equipment
- Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands to move levers/controls to operate the truck and dump attachment
- Required to have acceptable corrected vision (in both eyes) and acceptable corrected hearing
- Must be able to work outdoors in wet, muddy, cold, hot and humid weather.
