Founded in 1988, Food & Friends provides medically-tailored meals, nutrition support, and friendship to people living with AIDS, cancer, and other life-challenging illnesses. Our team of seventy employees and thousands of volunteers delivers meals and hope to people living in the District of Columbia and multiple counties across Maryland and Virginia. There is no charge or income qualification for our services, which are rendered solely on the basis of medical need.

We seek a Delivery Driver. Driving a refrigerated cargo van, the Delivery Driver will:
- load van with day’s deliveries;
- deliver meals and groceries to client homes throughout the Washington Metro region;
- offer a friendly greeting to clients, and report any changes in client living conditions;
- place gas in the vehicle, and report any maintenance issues.
Daytime working hours. This is an outstanding opportunity for someone who enjoys driving and helping others.
Requirements include a driver’s license (CDL not required) and good driving record, working knowledge of traffic and highway laws and regulations, familiarity with the Washington region, and good people skills. Prior professional driving experience strongly preferred. Must be able and willing to drive in a variety of weather conditions. Physical requirements include the ability lift 30 lbs., and to be physically mobile and able to grasp, stoop, walk, push, and climb stairs.
Offer of employment contingent upon a background check and pre-employment drug test.
This position pays an hourly rate of $21.64. Food & Friends provides a generous benefits package including medical insurance, dental insurance, disability insurance, life insurance, a retirement plan, paid maternity/paternity leave, weekly short Fridays, and three weeks of paid leave for new hires.
