Athletic​/Activity Driver - Non CDL

General Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for providing safe transportation of students to and from school activities, including sporting events, practices, competitions, and tournaments, utilizing a non-CDL Activity Bus or Minivan. This position will require working on evenings and weekends, and will involve both in-state and out-of-state travel. The driver will be required to perform a daily pre-trip and post-trip inspection, and will be responsible for ensuring a clean and safe environment for students.

Requires a high school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED), or an equivalent combination of education and experience that would provide the above knowledge, skill, and abilities. Requires a valid Virginia Class D Driver’s Licence. Candidate must complete VDOE School Activity Bus training.

• Responsible for driving a school vehicle in accordance with all local, State, and Federal policies and regulations
• Ensure that no more than 14 students are on board the school activity bus at a time.
• Assists students with boarding and exiting the vehicle safely
• Responsible for the completion of daily pre-trip, post-trip, and vehicle defect reports.
• Responsible for completing all required reports and forms at the conclusion of each trip
• Cleans the interior and exterior of the vehicle to ensure safe operation and appropriate conditions for students.
