Job Overview

R B Hinkle Construction Inc. is seeking skilled and safety-conscious Equipment Operators and CDL Drivers to join our team. This role involves operating a variety of heavy equipment for construction projects and/or safely transporting materials and equipment to and from job sites.

• Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and other construction machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
• Perform pre-operation and post-operation inspections of equipment and complete daily maintenance checks.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies on job sites.
• Interpret and follow grade stakes, blueprints, and verbal instructions to ensure accurate execution of work.
• Load and unload materials and equipment, ensuring secure transport.
• Safely operate commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) with a CDL, including dump trucks, flatbeds, and other heavy haul vehicles.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintain accurate driver logs.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and other personnel on job sites.
• Perform manual labor as needed to support construction operations.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

• Proven experience operating a variety of heavy construction equipment.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B with a clean driving record.
• Current DOT medical card.
• Strong understanding of construction site safety protocols and practices.
• Ability to read and interpret grade stakes, blueprints, and construction plans.
• Mechanical aptitude for performing basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in various weather conditions.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects, stand, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification a plus.
