Warehouse Associate - Virginia , VA

Position Purpose

The primary responsibility of the Warehouse Associate is to load and unload merchandise from trucks, move material within the facility, and transport products from the loading platform by carrying, pushing, rolling, or operating hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, or other material handling equipment. They safely operate forklifts or other machinery to complete tasks such as loading, unloading, sorting, staging, and transporting products.

The Warehouse Associate ensures jobs are staged and pulled prior to installation and may call service providers and delivery carriers to schedule pick-ups and deliveries.

• 25% Contact Service Provider – Assists with completion of open services in a timely manner
• 50% Loading and Unloading – Loads and unloads product and moves material within the warehouse
• 25% Safety – Ensures site and warehouse safety standards and compliance, cleanliness, and organization

• This position typically reports to Branch Installation Manager

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.

Usually in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort from such things as dust, fumes or odors.

• Home improvement or remodeling experience

• The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.
