Position Summary
The primary function of a delivery driver is to safely and efficiently operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with company policies along with federal and state regulations and deliver all freight undamaged. Work as a team player to deliver, load/unload materials while providing a world‑class customer service experience.
Duties & Responsibilities- Inspect truck/trailer for defects to ensure safe operation.
- Safely load building materials onto flatbed or boom truck and unload products at commercial and residential job sites.
- Deliver materials to the assigned area as directed by the customer, prioritizing personal safety and the safety of those around you.
- Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Report all accidents involving the driver or company equipment.
- Have stamina to lift heavy building materials up to 100+ lbs. during load/unload operations.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and a professional attitude.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL). Minimum Class B license;
Class A strongly preferred. - Clear three‑year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
- Overall knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and on a team, lead, execute, and delegate as needed.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Proactive self‑management, initiative, and results‑driven mindset.
- Professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Remain stationary while driving a commercial vehicle 40% of the time.
- Lift heavy building materials up to 80 lbs. for loading/unloading.
- Frequent movement of materials weighing up to 80 lbs. during unloading operations.
- Judge distance while delivering materials and/or operating a boom.
- Communicate with management and coworkers to exchange accurate information.
- Work constantly in an outdoor environment while making deliveries.
- Prioritize job sites and deadlines.
- Manage stress based on customer deadlines.
- Multitask effectively.
- Receive and act on information and directions.
- Communicate solutions quickly when problems arise.
- Demonstrate sound judgement.
