Position
Purpose:
The CDL Driver at SRS ensures safe, timely delivery of building materials to job sites, verifies inventory, follows safety protocols, and maintains high service standards. This role supports operational efficiency and fosters strong customer relationships through professionalism, teamwork, and responsiveness.
- Safely operate Class A/B vehicles within a 200‑mile radius, following DOT regulations with no overnight travel.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections, verify inventory accuracy, and ensure secure, damage‑free deliveries.
- Assess job site conditions to prevent hazards, collaborate with customers for material placement, and document deliveries with photos per company policy.
- Support yard operations and uphold OSHA safety standards to maintain a clean, efficient, and safe work environment.
- Manage all deliveries within the same day, beginning and ending at the home branch.
- Handle materials up to 100lbs., load/unload with forklifts or manually, and work in varied weather and noisy environments.
- Read and follow job‑related documents in English, and communicate effectively with customers and team members.
- Maintain detailed delivery records, perform vehicle and equipment inspections, and report any issues to the supervisor.
- Valid CDL ClassA orB with air brakes endorsement and a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or GED (vocational or industry‑specific training in truck driving is preferred).
- Minimum of 1–2 years of relevant commercial driving experience.
- Knowledge of DOT/OSHA regulations and ability to maintain a safe, compliant work environment.
- Physical capability to lift up to 100lbs., operate forklifts (Moffett's) safely, and work in demanding conditions.
- Must be 18+ (21 for interstate/hazmat deliveries), pass background checks, drug tests, and E‑Verify.
- Hazmat endorsement.
- Strong vehicle maintenance skills.
- Multi‑drop delivery experience.
- Familiarity with fleet management systems.
- Commitment to continuous improvement.
- Multilingual abilities to enhance customer communication.
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDLA orB) with Air Brakes endorsement – Required.
- Current DOT Medical Certificate – Required.
- Forklift Certification – Preferred.
- FMCSA Registration – Required.
The base salary typically ranges from $23.51 to $29.90 per hour, with wage adjustments based on location, education, training, and experience. Hourly associates may be eligible for overtime, performance‑based bonuses, commissions, car allowance or automobile and fuel program, and reimbursement for travel expenses in accordance with company travel policy.
