** Here's what you’ll do:*
* * Responsible for dispatching driver schedules/routes for load pick-up and deliveries and working with customers and warehouse operations to ensure accurate, timely and efficient operations, while providing a high level of customer service.
* Ensure timely follow-up, resolution and response to any route planning or delivery timing issues that may arise; work with Transportation Supervisors as appropriate.
* Maintain and update the department dispatch/communication log/software according to department procedures.
* Ensure information is accurate and up-to-date to ensure drivers understand all requirements for the scheduled delivery/pick-up (i.e., equipment/truck/trailer used, delivery location, pick-up/delivery time and documentation procedures, etc.) at all times during the dispatch shift.
* Review, verify and process driver delivery paperwork.
* Ensure adherence to company safety and sanitation policies and procedures, as well as all DOT rules and regulations.
* Develop and maintain good working relationships with customers and drivers.
* May assist with coordinating delivery changes, monitoring on-board computers, log reports and maintenance schedules, and submitting necessary information to payroll clerk.
* Work with Transportation/Logistics team to schedule appointments and assist the drivers with questions or issues related to delivery appointments.
* Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
** Here’s what you’ll need:*
* * Associate's degree (Preferred) in Business Administration or college coursework in Business Administration or Supply Chain or other related area.
* High school diploma or GED (required)
* Two years of logistics/transportation experience. Must have basic knowledge of dispatch operations.
* Good written and verbal communication skills and customer service skills; ability to interact with associates at all levels and external customers.
* Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Must be detail-oriented, organized and able to prioritize and multi-task.
* Good problem-solving and follow-up skills.
* Working knowledge of logistics operations.
* Proficient in MS Office (Excel and Word).
* Basic knowledge of DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and familiarly with transportation systems, Cadec experience preferred.
