CDL A - Transfer Truck Driver

Position

Purpose:

The CDL Transfer Driver at SRS Building Products ensures safe, timely transport of building materials between company locations, complying with all regulations and delivery schedules. This role supports operational efficiency and customer service excellence through skilled driving and effective coordination with logistics teams.

• Safely operate commercial trucks and follow all safety protocols
• Load/unload materials as needed
• Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation
• Conduct vehicle inspections and report issues
• Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations
• Meet delivery schedules and support logistics coordination
• Provide excellent customer service during interactions
• Collaborate with logistics teams to optimize routes
• Resolve transport-related issues efficiently

Direct Manager Direct Reports:
Reports to the Branch Manager; no direct reports.

Extensive travel required, covering local, regional, and cross-country routes.

This role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, prolonged sitting, and frequent movement including standing, walking, bending, and reaching. Must operate manual and automatic vehicles in all weather conditions, with strong visual and auditory skills for safe driving. This field-based role involves frequent travel to transport building materials between locations. Drivers must work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, ensuring safety, punctuality, and regulatory compliance. Operating vehicles in varied weather and terrain requires physical endurance and attention to detail. Strong coordination with logistics teams is key to optimizing routes and maintaining service excellence.

• Valid CDL with a clean driving record
• Minimum 3 years of commercial driving; building materials experience preferred
• Knowledge of safety protocols and route planning

The base salary for this position typically falls within the range of $23.51 to $29.90 per hour. Starting wage may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
