Job DutiesHelps the Warehouse Supervisor in maintaining an effective and efficient institutional warehouse operation ensuring an adequate inventory level of approved items in compliance with Department of Corrections (DOC) and institutional policy and procedure. Assist with ensuring all goods and materials are properly received, properly documented, stored and/or distributed in compliance with all safety and sanitation requirements. Assists the Warehouse Supervisor with maintaining a perpetual inventory system.
Assist with the physical inventory of warehouse items. Maintains safety and security and sanitation of warehouse operation. Ensures all staff and inmate workers are properly trained, supervised and monitored.
- Demonstrated skill in the use of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
- Demonstrated ability to operate a forklift and/or tractor.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Knowledge of warehousing operations, procedures, shipping and receiving.
- Capable of operating electric pallet jacks, reach trucks and forklifts.
- Experience with Occupational Safety & Health Act (OSHA) compliance and handling hazardous materials.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and follow oral and written rules and regulations; to maintain harmonious working and public relations; to learn new practices, procedures, and equipment operations.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and complete work assignments with minimal guidance from others; to understand and apply operating procedures.
- Forklift operator certification.
- Training and/or experience in warehouse operations.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience with data entry on automated inventory management systems.
