The Menokin Foundation seeks a highly-organized, outgoing and event-oriented person who brings prior experience working within a museum or cultural nonprofit to support Menokin's fundraising and donor engagement activities.
Working closely with the Executive Director, board committees, and volunteers, the Senior Development Manager will help organize campaign activities, conduct prospect research, write donor bios, coordinate events, and maintain Menokin's donor CRM database. This position is ideal for a highly organized, proactive professional who enjoys managing complex projects, building relationships, and ensuring that fundraising initiatives run smoothly. This job will require a particular focus on coordinating the details of a capital campaign while managing the organization’s annual giving activities and processes.
As part of a small, collaborative team, the Senior Development Manager plays an important role in advancing Menokin’s mission by strengthening donor engagement and supporting the successful implementation of both campaign and annual fundraising activities. This is a full time position that reports to the Executive Director.
Key Responsibilities Capital Campaign Coordination- Support the planning and implementation of the Foundation’s capital campaign.
- Coordinate activities of the Board Campaign Committee, including preparing meeting materials, scheduling meetings, and tracking follow-up actions.
- Maintain campaign prospect lists and track cultivation and solicitation activity.
- Conduct prospect research to identify and qualify potential donors.
- Assist with preparation of campaign materials, donor briefings, and proposals.
- Track campaign gifts, pledges, and reporting metrics.
- Manage the donor database/CRM system, including gift entry, record maintenance, and data accuracy.
- Generate reports for campaign progress, donor engagement, and annual fundraising activities.
- Support annual fundraising efforts, including appeals, donor acknowledgments, and stewardship communications.
- Maintain donor records, mailing lists, and campaign tracking systems.
- Assist in coordinating donor cultivation and stewardship activities.
- Prepare correspondence, acknowledgments, and donor communications.
- Help coordinate meetings and visits with donors and prospects.
- Ensure compliance with ethical standards and donor confidentiality policies.
- Assist with planning and logistics for fundraising events, including the annual gala and campaign-related gatherings.
- Coordinate volunteers, vendors, and event logistics.
- Support sponsorship outreach and donor follow-up related to events.
- Support grant research and proposal preparation in collaboration with staff and consultants.
- Maintain organized development files and documentation.
- Assist with donor communications such as newsletters, updates, and impact reports.
- Contribute to outreach and engagement initiatives that support fundraising goals.
- 2–4 years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising support, or related work.
- Experience coordinating projects, events, or campaigns with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience with CRM software and donor databases; experience with Bloomerang a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort using digital tools—including CRM systems, email marketing platforms, AI-assisted research, and other online resources—to support nonprofit management and donor engagement.
- Ability and curiosity to stay current with emerging digital tools and integrate them into fundraising and research processes.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a small-team environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
