Position Summary:

Seneca Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking a dedicated, Christ‑centered individual to serve as our full‑time Pastor. As a small‑town, independent Baptist church with a heart for missions and outreach, we desire a shepherd who will faithfully lead, preach the uncompromised Word of God, and nurture both spiritual and practical growth within the congregation and community. Seneca Baptist Church uses the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible for preaching and teaching from the pulpit according to the church’s constitution.

We value the depth and tradition of the KJV, and we ask that the Pastor honor this standard in public ministry. The ideal candidate will fulfill the biblical qualifications for pastoral leadership as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1‑7 and 1 Peter 5:1‑4, and will exemplify servant‑leadership, doctrinal soundness, and compassion.

• Preach and teach the Word of God from the KJV Bible according to the church constitution faithfully and consistently during regular worship services.
• Lead and organize Bible studies, prayer meetings, and seasonal services.
• Conduct and oversee baptisms, communion, weddings, funerals, and other religious ceremonies in accordance with Scripture.

• Provide confidential pastoral counseling and spiritual support.
• Visit and minister to the sick, homebound, grieving, or those in crisis.
• Lead visitation to new visitors and new members.
• Encourage and guide individuals in their walk with Christ and personal spiritual development.

• Provide vision, support, and oversight for all church ministries.
• Collaborate with ministry leaders, including those in Sunday School, missions, youth, and the Good News Club at the local elementary school.
• Assist with organizing and supporting mission trips and outreach events.
• Annual Couple’s retreat.
• Reach out to church supported missionaries.

• Partner with the Deacons and church leadership in managing church affairs and planning.
• Participate in and guide church business meetings and ensure clear communication within the body.
• Assist in stewardship and operational planning in accordance with church Constitution.
• Have office hours at the church for administrative duties and counseling opportunities.

• Cultivate a heart for evangelism and local community engagement within the congregation.
• Lead and participate in community outreach programs to serve and share the gospel.
• Represent Seneca Baptist Church in the local community and with other like‑minded ministries.

• Promote spiritual maturity through Bible‑based discipleship programs and teaching.
• Equip members for ministry through mentoring and training.
• Encourage personal and spiritual growth in biblical knowledge and Christian service.

• Must meet the biblical requirements for a pastor as stated in 1 Timothy 3:1‑7 and 1 Peter 5:1‑4.
• Possession of a bachelor’s degree in divinity, Theology, or related field (Master of Divinity preferred).
• Ordained as a Baptist minister, or willing to pursue ordination through Seneca Baptist Church.
• Experience in preaching, teaching, and pastoral leadership.
• Applicants must have held an assistant/associate pastor and/or pastor position for a minimum of 4 years’ experience as an assistant/associate pastor.
• Deep commitment to the fundamental beliefs of the Baptist faith, including the authority of Scripture and salvation through Jesus Christ alone.
• Strong interpersonal skills, able to relate to all age groups and backgrounds.
• Demonstrated heart for missions, outreach, and local evangelism.
• Ability to lead collaboratively and humbly alongside church leaders and volunteers.
• Must pass a comprehensive background check, including financial credit check.

A competitive compensation package will be provided based on the candidate’s education, experience, and ministry background. Specific details will be discussed during the interview process.
