The Virginia Capacity Building Project supports Serve Virginia and their partners in alleviating the effects of poverty through organizational capacity building. While our project covers a wide range of issue areas, from substance use disorder to educational opportunities, all of our members are dedicated to increasing the impact and reach of volunteerism and to pursuing healthy futures for all Virginians. The efforts of our Ameri Corps members will help us build towards a healthier, happier, and stronger Commonwealth.
MemberDuties
Serve your community and develop your professional skills through a year of service with Ameri Corps VISTA! In this in-person position, the Boys and Girls Club of the Northern Neck Community Engagement VISTA will build capacity by securing financial resources and community support to facilitate program expansion. The Member will do so by conducting outreach to establish local support, increasing funding and sponsor ships for expansion efforts, and improving outreach and resource development infrastructure.
The right fit for this position will have excellent communication and relationship-building skills, experience in public relations and event planning, and proficiency in using computer software such as MS Office. Applicants should also have a valid Driver’s License and be insurable under BGCNN standards. A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required. Must be able to perform duties that require prolonged standing, walking, bending, sitting, and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
