Friendship Baptist Church
, Woodbridge VA Position: Senior Pastor
Description
Friendship Baptist Church is seeking a part-time Pastor who will serve as the spiritual leader and primary shepherd of this congregation. He will work closely with the leadership team to serve and lead the church toward Gospel faithfulness, missional engagement, and disciple making for healthy sustainable growth.
Founded in 2023, Friendship Baptist Church is in the eastern half of Prince William County. It is a growing and diverse suburban community in the greater northern Virginia and the metro Washington DC area. The congregation is a unique gathering of believers which seek to serve and evangelize their community, having a similar population of empty nesters and retirees, many of whom have military and government backgrounds.
The congregation regularly gathers in the banquet room of a long-established restaurant and sports bar. This unique space affords the congregation a place that tells a less traditional story of a typical Southern Baptist Church (SBC) setting, enabling us to engage with the un-reached and un-churched with the Gospel hope of transformation. Although we are a smaller congregation of 35 attendees, we are committed to Good News Club elementary school evangelism, outreach at various local community celebrations, foreign missions, and local mercy ministries.
We are part of the Southern Baptist Conservatives of Virginia and participate in the SBC Cooperative Program.
