Essential

Skills and Experience:

• Active and unencumbered LPN or RN license is required
• Prior experience in schools or pediatric nursing, especially with high-needs students
• Proficient in tracheostomy and ventilator care
• Skilled at working both independently and collaboratively
• Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations
• Professional, compassionate, and able to adapt swiftly to changes in health status
• Ability to confidently ride the bus and manage care in transit

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 nursing care for a medically fragile high school student throughout the entire school day, including bus transport
• Monitor, assess, and respond proactively to the student's medical needs, including trach and vent support
• Maintain accurate documentation of care, interventions, and any incidents
• Communicate regularly with families, educators, and medical providers as needed
• Uphold strict confidentiality and the student's dignity at all times
• Operate independently from the main school nurse, serving as the primary healthcare support for the student
