Certified Nurse Midwife; CNM

Position Summary
A Certified Nurse Midwife is an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) who specializes in women’s reproductive health and childbirth. CNMs provide care throughout the lifespan, with a focus on pregnancy, labor and delivery, postpartum care, and general gynecological services.
Responsibilities- Provide prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care to women and their newborns.
- Conduct routine gynecological exams, including Pap smears and breast exams.
- Offer family planning services and contraceptive counseling.
- Assist with labor and delivery, including natural and medically assisted births.
- Monitor the health of mother and baby during and after childbirth.
- Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests as needed.
- Collaborate with OB‑GYNs, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Educate patients on reproductive health, childbirth preparation, and newborn care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
- Advocate for holistic, patient‑centered care and support maternal mental health.
- Document all patient interactions accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR) inclusive of direct patient encounters and asynchronous care.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in Washington State.
- Successful completion of an American College of Nurse‑Midwives (ACNM)-accredited nurse‑midwifery program.
- Current active certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board (or its predecessor), or be actively seeking initial certification and obtain the same on the first examination for which he or she is eligible.
- Clinical experience in obstetrics, gynecology, or women’s health.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and decision‑making skills.
- DEA, NPI & Prescriptive authority.
- Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association.
- Professional liability insurance coverage issued by a recognized company and in an amount equal to or greater than the limits established by the governing body.
- Completion of Fetal Heart Monitoring education as per MHS Fetal Monitoring Requirements for Initial Applicants, completed within 60 days of being granted privileges and remain current at the time of reappointment.
We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. The pay scale is $95.49 per hour. Pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
