Two years of full-time psychiatric nursing experience and 2,000 hours of clinical practice in psychiatric–mental health nursing within the last 3 years are recommended.
Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse – Board Certified (PMH-BC) credential is preferred. Strong communication, crisis intervention, and teamwork skills are important.
