American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for a NICU Level II position requiring 2 years of NICU experience and NRP certification.
Details- Special Care Nursery Level II unit caring for infants 32 weeks and above
- 5-bed unit with capacity to expand to 6 beds
- Staffing includes 1 charge RN and 1 staff RN per shift, with a second RN added when unit volume increases
- Patient ratios vary based on acuity and volume
- Uses Giraffe and Panda warmers, syringe pumps, and Hospira pumps
- Meditech EMR used
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- 13-week assignment
- Requires 4 weekend shifts within a 4-week period
- On-call requirement of 12 hours in addition to scheduled shifts
- Floating required to Postpartum for well newborn care and to L&D for delivery attendance in the NRN role
- Active Compact RN license required at time of consideration
- BLS certification required
- NRP certification required for attending vaginal and c-section deliveries
- Minimum of 2 years of NICU experience at Level 2 or greater required within a hospital setting
- STABLE Certification preferred
- Nursing certification within specialty preferred
- Provide family-centered care to neonatal patients and their families
- Perform procedures including IV antibiotics, dextrose infusions, TPN/lipids, PO/NG feeds, umbilical line maintenance, oxygen support, nasal CPAP, and surfactant administration assistance
- Attend deliveries in support of NRP protocols
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered
- No gaps in work history totaling 90 days or more within the past 12 months
