Job Title: Locum Nurse Practitioner - Urgent Care | Glen Allen, VA

- End Date/Duration: Ongoing until a permanent provider is hired
- Shift: 12-hour shifts, clinics open 7 days/week, 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Hours/Week: 36 hours/week (3 shifts per week)
- Employment Type: Locum with potential for permanent hire
- Licensing/Certifications: Active Virginia Nurse Practitioner license required
- Experience: Prior outpatient urgent care experience preferred
- Hourly Rate: $14.74/hr

- Provide urgent care services in outpatient clinic settings across multiple locations
- Perform suturing, I&D procedures, and splinting as needed
- Manage minor burn care, foreign body removal, and skin lesion treatments
- Stabilize orthopedic injuries and perform joint reductions when necessary
- Conduct diagnostic assessments including X-ray interpretation, EKG evaluation, and point-of-care testing (e.g., rapid strep, COVID-19, flu tests)
- Support airway management with nebulizer treatments and emergency stabilization
- Document all patient encounters accurately in Epic EMR system
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure efficient patient flow and quality care
Required:
- Virginia Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing
- BLS certification
- Prior outpatient urgent care experience (preferred)
- Strong procedural and diagnostic skills including suturing, I&D, and stabilization techniques
- Experience with pediatric populations and complex urgent care cases
- Ability to handle high patient volume with efficiency and professionalism
