American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of experience and a VA or compact RN license.

• 32-bed Medical/Surgical unit focused on adopting new technology and innovative nursing practices
• Utilizes Hercules beds and other innovative equipment
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday rotation required, including one summer and one winter holiday
• Staff self-schedule in rotating groups on a weekly basis
• Float required at times to cover staffing needs
• Meditech charting system experience preferred

• Active VA or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care required
• Experience with oxygen administration, oral suctioning, and nasal cannula required
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE required
• Experience with heparin, insulin, and PCA medication administration required
• Telemetry remote monitoring and rapid response/code team experience required
• Preferred skills include central line blood draw, blood product administration, tracheostomy care, chest tube management, colostomy/ileostomy care, wound care/wound vac, IV insulin protocols, and pre/post hemodialysis management

• Team members are early adopters of new technology and nursing practice models
• Employee Health drug screen required on first day before first shift begins
• Fit testing required, and candidates must be clean-shaven unless an approved medical exemption is obtained prior to starting
• Zero-tolerance policy for THC, including medical marijuana cards
• RTO policy: if one holiday falls during the assignment expect to work it, if two expect to work one, if three expect to work two
• Candidates who previously worked as permanent staff at the facility within the past 24 months will not be considered
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
