Lead Veterinarian – Catlett, VA

A veterinary practice is seeking a Veterinary Leader to join its collaborative clinical team. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced veterinarian who is passionate about delivering high-quality companion animal care, mentoring team members, and helping shape the continued growth and success of a thriving practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership while delivering exceptional medical and surgical care for companion animals.
  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations, diagnostic evaluations, and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Mentor and support veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to promote clinical excellence and professional growth.
  • Foster a collaborative, positive workplace culture focused on teamwork and high-quality patient care.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of medical protocols and best practices.
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership to improve clinical operations, workflow, and patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records.
  • Participate in continuing education and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
  • Active or eligible veterinary license in the state of practice.
  • Previous experience in companion animal medicine is required.
  • Leadership or mentoring experience is preferred.
  • Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care and collaborative leadership.
