Ameri Staff Employment & Staffing Solutions is currently seeking a Quality Supervisor for a direct hire opportunity with a manufacturing client in Chatham, VA
. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality systems, manufacturing environments, auditing, and continuous improvement while maintaining a hands‑on presence on the production floor.
- Direct Hire Opportunity
- Pay: $60,000–$90,000 annually (Based on Experience & Skill Level)
- Opportunity to work in a collaborative manufacturing environment
- Maintain a hands‑on approach to quality functions and support manufacturing operations daily.
- Develop and maintain incoming inspection processes for raw materials and production components.
- Upgrade and improve quality systems to ensure best practices are followed.
- Establish inspection procedures for new products and production processes.
- Schedule and conduct internal audits while documenting results and assigning audit responsibilities as needed.
- Issue and follow up on corrective action requests to resolve quality issues effectively.
- Coordinate and manage third‑party certification audits for Environmental and Quality Management Systems.
- Interface with customers, third‑party auditors, ETL inspectors, and UL inspectors during audits and inspections.
- Collaborate with internal teams to analyze customer complaints, vendor concerns, and internal quality issues while compiling reports and resolutions.
- Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering, and Logistics to ensure product quality standards are maintained.
- Write, revise, and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, and forms.
- Manage controlled documents, including environmental and quality management system documentation, nonconforming material reports, and deviations.
- Review and disposition nonconforming materials and customer returns.
- Maintain safety standards and good housekeeping practices throughout the facility.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of quality experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment required.
- Wire and cable industry experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and IATF 16949 standards.
- Internal auditing certification preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of computer systems and laboratory testing equipment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Lean Manufacturing knowledge and experience preferred.
- Experience working in a union environment preferred.
- Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
